Ameerah Jay was born in Geneva in September 2005. Her father is Swiss – Moroccan and her mother Romanian.
Inheriting a love for eclectic music from her parents, Ameerah Jay forged her own identity in singing at very early age.
Compared with Adele, Amy Winehouse or Sia, yet such a distinct incomparable voice, Ameerah Jay comes out with her original style, that once you listen to her, you know that she might inspire the world forever.
With both parents being performing artists, Ameerah landed into the music business since she was new born. She grew up taking part of studio sessions, live shows rehearsals or brainstorming meetings about music launching strategies. While she was having lots of fun she also grew into today’s disciplined, professional and hard working artist.
She started singing at 5 years old, but her love for the stage happened when she performed for the first time at the age of 10, and finished her representation with a crowd of thousands, giving her a standing ovation.
Just after the elementary school she moved with her family in the United States of America,
where she started chasing her dreams to develop her artistry.
She signed with Jay Vibe Records in 2018 and started working on her first album, in Miami label’s studios.
Homeschooled, Ameerah Jay manages very well to combine studying and long studio recording sessions.
Ready to go, her debut visual album suggestively entitled “Just 14”, wove between hard hitting songs touching on actual social situation and more personal narrative ones.
Each of the songs, written and composed by her father, Elam Jay, has meaningful lyrics, narrating important episodes of the artist’s, certainly short, but already such experimented life.
The album is an overwhelming blending of styles as pop, country, soul with some rockish sonorities, just enough to make each song sound epic.
The first common exclamatory reaction to her music, is “What?!! No way this girl can be just 14 years old!!!” The mind-blowing power of her voice, complimented so well by her emotions and the soul she exhibits through each single word, might touch you to tears.
